Prenatal Organophosphate flame retardants exposure and neurobehavior, potential mediation by the gut microbiota in neonates: the Shanghai Maternal-Child Pairs Cohort

Existing toxicological evidence has identified the associations of organophosphate flame retardants (OPFR) with neurodevelopmental disorders and alteration of gut microbiota. However, there is currently a dearth of epidemiological evidence regarding the impact of OPFR on childhood neurobehavior. The underlying role of gut microbiota in the neurotoxicity of OPFRs remained elusive.
