Persistence of plant-mediated microbial soil legacy effects in soil and inside roots

Soil fungi and bacteria were conditioned by growing 6 plant species as monocultures in mesocosms for a year. In the feedback phase the same six plants were grown in all the six soils and the development of bacteria and fungal communities was measured in time (1, 3, and 5 months after the start), as well as inside the roots of the plants.
