Translation (Seng Pan) The story is about a young king. A long time ago, there was a big city. Everyone in the city could become the king if they wanted to be. After five years of being king, he was taken to an island with many wild animals like lions and eaten by the animals. However, the poor people still wanted to become the king. Therefore, they competed to be selected as the king. A man was chosen to be king for five years. During five years, the man spent the time carelessly; did what he wanted, ate what he preferred. The next morning after his fifth year of being a king, the soldiers knocked on the door. The man shouted, "What brings you here this early? What do you have to tell me?" "We are here to seize you," the soldiers replied. At that moment, he got so shocked that his five years had already been completed. But he couldn't do anything. And the only thing he did was regret. He was tied up and brought to the island. Soon he was eaten by the wild animals and died. Every time, the new kings only spent the time recklessly and were killed one by one. However, one year, a young boy competed in the king selection. And he was elected as the king in that year. Before he became the king, he had already observed how to treat and free wild animals. The young boy was an attentive king, so in the first year of being the king, he gathered all king's counsellors and generals and cried in front of them. The young king commanded his soldiers to free some animals from the island and keep some of them to breed the next year. The soldiers also did as he ordered. In the third year, the young king announced that the people were allowed to go and do farming on the island. He also used the wood from it where it was needed. Moreover, he built hospitals and schools there. In the fourth year, he supplied the necessary equipment in the schools, hospitals and people there. In the fifth year, the young king was not scared of being abandon. He lived peacefully. On the first morning of the sixth year, the soldiers came and seized him. But he was not scared of it since he had known that he would not die on the island. Therefore, he went with the soldier happily. When they got there, the people warmly welcomed the young king since he allowed the poor to settle on the island. And they all happily lived there together.
