2016 ROV video surveys (Dives 50-51) in a deep-water environment at Hatton Basin (Labrador, Canada) aboard CCGS Amundsen

The main purpose of these surveys was to collect data to allow an assessment of invertebrate (e.g. corals and sponges) and fish biodiversity within the Hatton Basin area (Canada). Steep and deep hard-bottom environments are the main focus of the video-surveys, as these environments cannot be sampled effectively using box-cores or trawls. Sampling of deep-water corals and sponges was another objective of the survey at this site.
