This project intends to study the effects of different genotypes of scions of mulberry trees on the rhizosphere fungi communities of rootstocks and their interaction mechanisms. This project intends to conduct pot experiments, graft different scions onto the same rootstock, analyze the root distribution of mulberry trees, the physical and chemical properties of the soil, and the influence of rhizosphere microorganisms and their associations, explain the interaction mechanism between the above-ground and underground parts, and screen out potential growth-promoting fungi of mulberry trees. These findings emphasize the importance of overall genotype selection in perennial crop systems. Optimizing the synergistic effect of scion-rootstock and microbiome can enhance productivity and sustainability.
