E. coli ST167 is an emerging multidrug-resistant ExPEC clone. This study analyzed the whole genome of a blaNDM-5-harboring E. coli ST167 (EC121) isolated from seafood. The strain was resistant to 26/33 antibiotics, with genomic analysis confirming resistance genes (e.g., blaNDM-5, blaCMY-42, sul2, tet(B)) and virulence factors, classifying it as O101:H9, phylogroup A. Quinolone resistance mutations (gyrA, parC) were detected. Findings highlight the environmental dissemination of multidrug-resistant E. coli and aquatic foods as potential vectors of such bacteria.
