Economic costs of accessing TB diagnostic services in Malawi: an analysis of patient costs from a randomised controlled trial of computer-aided chest x-ray interpretation.

The files entail the data and the code needed to conduct an analysis of patients costs from a randomised controlled trial of computer-aided chest X-Ray interpretation in Blantyre, Malawi. The questionnaires used are also included.<br><br>Ethical approval for the collection of this data and study was granted. Additionally, all participants provided written informed consent. If illiterate, participants were asked to provide a witness thumbprint. <br><br>The data shared here is completely de-identified and annonymised to protect the participants confidentiality and identity. <br><b><br></b><b>Brief description of files:</b><b><br></b>File: 01-Economic costs - generating variables <br>This is a STATA dofile containing the code needed to generate key variables for analysis.<br>File: 02-Economic costs - stat and cost analysis <br>This is a STATA dofile containing the code needed to conduct statistical and cost analysis once the key variables have been generated. With this dofile results can be used to produce apropriate tables and figures for data visualisation.<br>File(s): Economic costs - dataset_220221Data sets in both STATA and CSV format, containing the data needed to conduct the analysis. The dofiles should be run with this dataset. Each row represents a participant (219 rows = 219 participants). This data is completely de-identified and anonymised. <br><br>A key variable to note is the "group" variable. This is the different trial arms: <br>Group 1: Current standard of careGroup 2: Optimised HIV screening and linkage to care (intervention)Group 3: Optimised TB and HIV screening and linkage to care (intervention with chest X-ray diagnosis). <br><br><br>
