Building permits; key figures for new homes; construction costs, content, region

This table publishes data on the annual rolling average of the construction costs, content and surface area of newly built dwellings for which a building permit has been granted. The results relate to granted building permits for dwellings with a total building sum starting from 50 thousand euros, excluding VAT over the past 12 months. Granted building permits in which a mix of dwellings with residential units, recreational homes and/or business premises are not included in this statistics. The data are broken down by type of property (rented and owner-occupied dwellings) and by parts of the country. Data available from January 2012. Status of the figures: The rolling annual figures from January 2012 to September 2022 are final. The rolling annual figures from October 2022 are provisional. Amendments as of 16 November 2023: The provisional rolling annual figure from 2022 October – 2023 September has been added to the table. The rolling annual figure of 2021 October – 2022 September has been finalised. The three provisional rolling annual figures, which are between the new figure and the final figure, have been redefined and may differ from previous publications. When will there be new figures? The annual rolling figures are recalculated each quarter. The new – provisional – rolling annual figures will be published approximately 2 months after the reporting period.
