Field Sample training

Methode:

Material required was obtained and every member of the group was given a specific responsibility in the experiment.

First group member was asked to keep the experiment time to exactly one minute.

Second group member was asked to sweep with the net every 1 meter of the transects.

Other two group members were asked to set up a transect.

A Distance based transect of length 25m was created in order to collect species with the sweep net in an organized manner.

A figure-of-eight sweep was practiced during this experiment.

After sweeping for exactly 1 minute the open end of the sweep net was shut close in order to count the number of organisms caught inside it.

Observations were recorded in a table.

Finally the waste material in the sweep net was removed and same procedure was repeated again for a total of 10 trials.

Consecutive transects were set up at different angles to one another. In other words every transect was set up in a unique place in order to prevent catching the same organism twice.
