Microplankton abundance in the euphotic zone of the Aegean Sea at Station SEPT-1998-MNB6

Microplankton species composition analysis was performed according to the inverted microscope method of Utermoehl. Samples for identification and enumeration of larger phytoplankton cells (>5µm) were preserved in alkaline Lugol solution. Utermoehl, H., 1958. 微型浮游生物（microplankton）的物种组成分析采用乌特莫尔倒置显微镜法（Utermoehl inverted microscope method）开展。针对粒径大于5微米的大型浮游植物（phytoplankton）细胞的鉴定与计数样本，使用碱性鲁哥氏液（alkaline Lugol solution）进行固定保存。乌特莫尔（Utermoehl, H.）于1958年发表了《定量浮游植物研究方法的完善》（原德文标题：Zur Vervollkommung der quantitativen Phytoplankton-Methodik），刊载于《国际理论与应用湖沼学协会纪要》（Mitt. Int. Ver. Theor. Angew. Limnol.）第9卷，页码1-38。
