This is a unique large-scale synthetic dataset covering residential energy usage of millions of households across the contiguous United States. The data is partitioned hourly and categorized into two segments: thermostatically controlled loads (TCL) and appliance usage. The dataset is organized into folders by date and state, with each file corresponding to a U.S. county's Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) code identifier. It includes both metadata and energy data timestamped according to local time zones, with the unit of kilowatt-hour (kWh). A data header codebook is also provided. This dataset is designed to analyze household energy consumption patterns and validate synthetic energy usage profiles against real-world data.
