Materials Data on Ce3I by Materials Project

Ce3I crystallizes in the hexagonal P6_3/mmc space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Ce is bonded in a distorted see-saw-like geometry to four equivalent I atoms. All Ce–I bond lengths are 3.36 Å. I is bonded to twelve equivalent Ce atoms to form a mixture of corner and face-sharing ICe12 cuboctahedra.

三碘化铈（Ce3I）以六方晶系P6_3/mmc空间群结晶。其晶体结构为三维骨架结构。铈原子以畸变跷跷板型配位几何与四个等价的碘原子成键，所有Ce-I键长均为3.36埃。碘原子与十二个等价的铈原子成键，形成兼具顶点共享与面共享的ICe12立方八面体（cuboctahedra）。
