We made single/double knockout mutants of mutS, mutH, mutL, mutT, and dnaQ genes from E. coli MDS42 strain. The strains were subjected to mutation accumulation (MA) experiments, and the genomes of the ancestral and mutation-accumulated strains were sequenced with Illumina MiSeq.
