Thermal Catastre Hamburg – Quarter renovation projects

The City of Hamburg (Authority for the Environment and Energy) accompanies, supports and promotes energy-efficient neighbourhood concepts that shed light on measures to increase the overall energy performance in a neighbourhood and advance towards implementation maturity. The objectives include the introduction of energy renovation measures of buildings, the development of renewable energy sources and waste heat sources, the achievement of cost-saving effects through the participation of several actors and the stimulation of several building owners in one neighbourhood to jointly implement energy measures. The KfW programme “Energetic Urban Renovation” promotes in-depth integrated neighbourhood concepts. In these neighbourhood concepts, in addition to the energetic aspects, all other relevant aspects of urban planning, monument preservation, construction culture, housing management and social aspects are considered. This is intended to carry out a detailed examination of technical and economic energy saving potentials in the district in order to identify concrete measures for a short, medium and long-term CO2 emission reduction on this basis. In addition to the federal funds of KfW, the Authority for the Environment and Energy promotes the development of district concepts with state funds, provided that certain requirements are met. The map shows quarters in Hamburg that are being implemented or have been implemented in the course of these programmes and provides information on the project status.
