Geographic trade data in GeoDanmark (GeoFA)

GeoFA is a voluntary collection of municipal data, which is estimated to have value across municipal borders — both for external users and for municipalities. It is free and voluntary for municipalities to use the database for storing and displaying data — and also free of charge for third parties to use data.

The GeoFA database contains, for example, the municipal outdoor data (recreational paths and routes, shelters, bonfires, bathing beaches and other facilities) and school districts. https://www.geodanmark.dk/home/vejledninger/geofa/vejledninger-til-geofa/

The GeoFA database has the strength that data is structured in the same way that data can be used and compared across municipal borders. Since it is voluntary for the municipalities to put data in GeoFA, not all datasets will be complete, both geographically and in terms of content. It is expected that there will be more municipalities that will add data on an ongoing basis.

**Air data in GeoFA**
GeoFA is master data for many local (municipal) and national solutions, such as Udinaturen, West Coast App, Shelterapp, Hejcamp and others.

Udinaturen.dk is Denmark’s guide to experiences in nature, where you can get an overview of shelters, cycle routes, playgrounds, toboggan trays, toilets and much more via an interactive map. Udinaturen.dk also includes the possibility that you can add facilities to the GeoFA database if you as a private organisation have a facility that the public would like to have access to. In this way, GeoFA data flows automatically to many public and private solutions, while the GeoFA database can be supplemented with data via udinaturen.dk.
