Replication Data Cooperation between National Armies: Evidence from the Sahel borders*

This dataset contains replication materials for "Cooperation between National Armies: Evidence from the Sahel borders" by Marion Richard and Oliver Vanden Eynde, published in the Journal of Development Economics (2026).
The replication package includes all code and data files necessary to reproduce the main results, tables, and figures in the paper and online appendix. The package contains:

Code: R and Stata scripts for data cleaning and analysis
Raw data: Shapefiles and geographic datasets (missing ACLED and ethno-linguistic distribution)
Clean data: Processed datasets ready for analysis
Documentation: README files with detailed instructions for replication

Data sources: ACLED conflict data (January 24, 2024 download, covering 2010-2023), administrative boundary shapefiles, nighttime lights, NDVI, road networks, ethnic homeland data, and other geographic datasets detailed in the paper.
Software requirements: Stata (recent version) and R (recent version) with packages specified in the code.
