NRS-17780 | Postgraduate Education Committee / Medical Education Advisory Committee Minutes [Royal Newcastle Hospital]

This series consists of the minutes of two committees, related as predecessor and successor, which were responsible for designing policies and courses to further the education of doctors connected with the Hospital. The minutes were kept as one series, in one file of the spring-bound manila type. The Minutes of the Postgraduate Education Committee extend from November 1970 until June 1974, and those of the Medical Education Advisory Committee continue from July 1974 until September 1977, after which it was succeeded by a new Education Committee, whose Minutes are not included in this series.Physically part of the same file are copies of the Minutes of the Briefing Committee, 02/08/1976 – 14/06/1977, probably included for reference purposes. This Committee was set up by the University of Newcastle to advise on the construction of the Clinical Sciences Building at Royal Newcastle Hospital, and included representatives from the Hospital and from the Health Commission of N.S.W. It was, however, a University rather than a Hospital committee, and the minutes held here are merely copies.
