Comprehensively integrating multi-source satellite remote sensing-derived precipitation, soil moisture and land surface temperature data, we developed a 0.25° spatial resolution microwave integrated drought index dataset over land areas between 38°S and 38°N spanning the period from 1998 to 2022. This dataset facilitates research on the spatial distribution, temporal evolution and long-term trends of drought at global and regional scales, serving as a foundational data resource for revealing the spatiotemporal patterns and regional disparities of dry-wet variations.
