Wild emmer wheat (Triticum turgidum ssp. dicoccoides) is the wild relative of Triticum turgidum, the progenitor of tetraploid durum and bread wheat. We performed chromosome-based survey sequencing of the 14 chromosomes of T. dicoccoides, examining repetitive sequences, protein-coding genes, putative miRNA/target pairs and tRNA genes, as well as syntenic relationships with related grasses.
