This dataset and accompanying interactive visualization present the spatio-temporal characteristics of Compound Dry-Hot Extremes (CDHEs) across 100 Indian smart cities for the period 1958-2023.. The interactive map provides city-level information on CDHEs frequency, return period, intensity, and vulnerability risk, integrating multiple metrics derived at seasonal and decadal scales. Cities are geolocated and categorized into seven climatic zones: Central India, Northern India, Western India, Himalayan Region, North-Eastern India, South-Eastern Peninsular India, and Western Ghats. For each city, the following variables are included: Frequency (No. of events):Seasonal occurrence of CDHEs (Pre-Monsoon, Monsoon, Post-Monsoon) across three periods:1958–1980, 1981–2000, and 2001–2023. Return Period (months):Average recurrence interval of CDHEs for each time slice. Cumulative Intensity (Frequency × Severity):Aggregated intensity metric capturing both occurrence and severity of CDHEs. Rank within Zone (Cumulative Intensity, 2001–2023):Cities are ranked within their respective climatic zones based on cumulative intensity during 2001–2023 and expressed as relative position (Rank/Total cities in zone). Cumulative Vulnerability Index:Derived from the Oxford Economics Global Cities dataset, indicating relative vulnerability class (High, Moderate, Low, Very Low). Cities not listed in the Oxford dataset are explicitly identified. Interactive Component: The HTML file provides an interactive map in which each city is represented by a location marker. Marker color indicates the vulnerability class, and clicking on a marker reveals detailed metrics displayed in a structured tabular format.
