Carpet backing cloth jute goods consumption India FY 2009-2023

About four hundred metric tons of jute carpet backing cloth was used across India in fiscal year 2014, which was only about half the consumption volume in the previous year. The jute industry had seen a decreasing trend in production as well as usage due to the rise of alternative packaging material, especially ones that were plastic-based and thus, more affordable. From 2015 onwards, the consumption was fully dismissed.
