This dataset investigates 23 large-scale sporting events held since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, covering the Olympic Games, UEFA European Championship, global winter sports events such as the 2021 World Figure Skating Championships and 2021 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championships, as well as championships or open events organized by international federations of individual sports. It summarizes the epidemic prevention policies, international public opinions, and event effects of these competitions. The epidemic prevention and management models for sporting events take the "event bubble" epidemic prevention management model launched by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) on July 11, 2020 as a key milestone, and almost all competitions after this date were basically based on this type of model.
