The current knowledge regarding the effect of global climate change on methane emissions is incomplete, partly because information is limited concering the mechanism of the microbial response to N addition and water table decline. A in situ simulated manipulation was conducted in alpine wetland to investigate the response of methanogenic archaeal communities to increased N and decreased water table.
