In this study we analysed the complete genome sequence of a mcr-1 and ctx-m-2 carrying isolate recovered from dog urine. The recent emergence of mcr-1, has alerted the public health systems and led to changes in how resistance is perceived globally.Close relationship between pets and human beings clearly increases the potential risk on human health, few studies were performed on E. coli isolatesfrom dogs and cats in order to contribute to the understanding of the global scenario of antimicrobial resistance.
