Tajikistan - Livestock and Pasture Development Project, IFAD Impact Assessment Surveys 2018

The Livestock and Pasture Development Project (LPDP) was designed to increase the nutritional status and incomes of poor rural households in the Khatlon region by boosting livestock productivity through improvement of the productive capacity of pastures and through breeding and mating techniques combined with easier access to water.The project comprised three main components which aimed at: developing an institutional capacity at the village level creating managerial structure and social cohesion in managing pastureland, through the establishment of Pasture User Unions (PUUs); at improving livestock husbandry practices and increasing fodder production and livestock production and productivity.
