Feasibility and Acceptability of Implementing a Practice Guideline for the use of High Flow Nasal Cannula in Critically Ill Patients who have Hypoxemia: a Multi-centre Study in Nepal

The study aimed to evaluate the feasibility and acceptability of using a high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) guideline in Nepal's intensive care units (ICUs). The researchers measured the proportion of eligible patients who received HFNC, compared the oxygenation measures between those who survived and those who did not, and surveyed healthcare workers for their feedback. They found that the guideline was associated with a small increase in HFNC use and was feasible, acceptable, and appropriate for use in clinical practice in ICUs in Nepal. Patients who successfully used HFNC had better oxygenation measures than those who did not, and healthcare workers rated the guideline highly.<br>
