Fecal Metagenome Sequences of STRONG Kids 2 Birth Cohort Study

The gut microbiota is essential for normal immune, metabolic, gastrointestinal and cognitive development and function. STRONG Kids 2 birth cohort includes 468 mother-infant pairs and infants were followed from birth to 7 years old. Mothers completed surveys including demographics, infant diet and child health. Infant stools were collected at home visits. The aim of the study is to examine the effect of nutrition and other environmental factors on the development of infant gut microbiome. These dataset represents fecal metagenomic sequences of a subset of the full cohort, focusing on different modes of delivery and early life nutrition.
