Enhanced Machine Learning-based Fast and Effective Epileptic Seizure Detection

This research presents an automated method for identifying and diagnosing epilepsy using EEG signals using a hybrid of an Improved Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (IANFIS) and a Light Gradient Boosting Machine (LightGBM). The experimental results were based on scalp EEG data collected at Children's Hospital Boston and EEG datasets made public by the German University of Bonn. According to the results, the proposed IANFIS-LightGBM provides the highest classification accuracy scores in both cases.
