Gauge height (DP1.20267.001)

Gauge height is the height of the water surface above an established altitude where the stage is zero. The zero level is arbitrary, but is often close to the streambed. Gauge height at stream sites will be related to measurements of stream discharge to formulate stage-discharge rating curves at all NEON stream and river sites. Rating equations will be applied to continuous surface water elevation data in order to calculate continuous stream discharge at all NEON aquatic sites. 水位高程（gauge height）指水面相对于设定的零水位基准面的高度。该零水位基准面为任意设定值，通常贴近河床。
河流监测点的水位高程数据将与河流流量实测数据结合，用于构建所有NEON溪流与河流监测点的水位流量关系曲线（stage-discharge rating curves）。后续将通过水位流量关系方程对连续水面高程数据进行处理，以此计算所有NEON水生监测点的连续河流流量序列。
