Fungal sequences were obtained as part of the Forest Fungi Project launched in 2015 by the Lankau Lab at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Samples were collected by the public, sent to our lab for DNA extraction, and sequenced on-campus. This data was then paired with the submitted GPS coordinates to determine where mycorrhizal fungal species live.
