The Niami Dynamic Mask Theory: A Multi-Level Model of Adaptive Subject Preservation Under Structural Pressure

Abstract This paper introduces the Niami Dynamic Mask Theory (NDMT), a multi-level framework for understanding how contemporary subjects sustain psychological, social, and existential continuity under conditions of systemic pressure. The theory conceptualizes the “dynamic mask” not as a static façade or deceptive identity layer, but as an adaptive regulatory mechanism that mediates between structural constraints and subjective continuity. Integrating social theory, cognitive adaptation, and existential resilience, NDMT proposes that subjectivity in late modernity is maintained through continuously shifting representational and behavioral masks. The model extends beyond individual psychology by embedding the mask within structural power relations, technological mediation, and attention economies. The theory aims to bridge micro-level adaptation with macro-level systemic pressures.
