The Federal Environment Agency operates seven air quality stations where background pollution, long-distance transport of air pollutants and trend of air quality are collected. The report shows the results of the measurements in 2015 and the development of the last 20 years. The limit values for particulate matter, nitrogen dioxide, nitrogen oxide, sulphur dioxide and carbon monoxide, as well as for heavy metals and benzo(a)pyrene were met at all measuring points. In the case of ozone, the target values for the protection of human health were exceeded at all measuring points, those for the protection of vegetation at all measuring points other than the Zöbelboden. The information threshold was exceeded in Enzenkirchen, Illmitz and Pillersdorf.
