Experiment was conducted on Tuesday September 29th, 2015, at 3:00, at the Danby Grasslot in York University to observe the insect diversity and abundance in the area. A transect was laid out for 50 feet across the grasslot, insects were obtained by sweeping with a net for approximatly 2 minutes and 30 seconds over the 50 feet (Approxiamtly 2 sweeps every half foot.) At the end of the sweep Insects were taken out of the net and recorded. The sweeping was repeated 10 times, each new transect line was at a 45° angle from the end of the previous line, creating an overall zigzag pattern. This experiment was done in the rain, creating a bias for certain insects such as the Grove Snail (<em>Cepaea nemoralis</em>.) Experiment was conducted by Markian Plawiuk, with help from Bonnie Duong and Nicole Gallagher.
