Roosevelt Island Bedrock and Surface Elevations

This data set consists of bedrock and surface elevation readings taken by ground penetrating radar and Global Positioning System (GPS) on Roosevelt Island, an ice dome within the Ross Ice Shelf. Locations were validated by GPS readings of poles set in the surface snow. The data was collected between November and December, 1997.

Data are available via ftp, and are provided in a text file with an accompanying file that provides GPS locations. Surface and bedrock elevations are given in meters above WGS84.

本数据集包含依托探地雷达（Ground Penetrating Radar）与全球定位系统（Global Positioning System，GPS），在罗斯冰架内的冰穹——罗斯福岛采集的基岩与地表高程读数。测点位置通过设置于地表积雪中的标杆的GPS观测数据完成验证。数据采集周期为1997年11月至12月。
数据集可通过文件传输协议（File Transfer Protocol，FTP）获取，以文本文件格式存储，并附带一份包含GPS位置信息的配套文件。地表与基岩高程均以WGS84基准面以上的米为单位给出。
