The goat mammary epithelial cells were isolated from Xinong Saanen goats during peak lactation. The goat mammary epithelial cells were cultured at medium supplemented with fetal bovine serum, penicillin/streptomycin and epidermal growth factor . When grown before confluence, the cells were treated with SIF for 12 h. Then, goat mammary epithelial cells were harvest for RNA extraction and RNA-seq using the Illumina HiSeqTM 2000 platform.
