Aedes aegypti aegypti larval transcriptome reads

Mosquitoes, including the yellow fever mosquito Aedes aegypti, require microbes in their gut to successfully develop into adult mosquitoes. To better understand what role the microbes are playing in mosquito development, we examined gene expression of the guts and bodies of Aedes aegypti larvae with their native bacterial flora (conventional), with a single strain of Escherichia coli (gnotobiotic), and with no bacteria (axenic).
