Economic empowerment, gender and legal change

Abstract Economic empowerment and enhanced consumption correlate with changes in the legal recognition of gender equality in Brazil. This essay employs categories that link capitalism to gender and to legal change in order to think about legal change regarding women’s rights and LGBT rights in Brazil, emphasizing the relationship between economic empowerment and the reversal of arbitrary social hierarchies inherited from the past.

摘要：经济赋权与消费升级，与巴西性别平等的法律认可进程变革存在显著关联。本文采用将资本主义与性别议题、法律变革相联结的分析范畴，探讨巴西在妇女权利与LGBT权利领域的法律变革议题，着重阐释经济赋权与扭转过往遗留的专断社会层级结构之间的内在联系。
