Native Vegetation Vulnerability Under Future Climate Scenarios in Hawaii (Single classifications and multi-class RF results)

Results from "End of Century Climate Predictions and Vulnerability Assessments Native Vegetation in the Hawaiian Islands" with single category and multiclass outputs. Vegetation categories for single outputs include Native Dry Forest (NDF), Native Dry Shrub (NDS), Native Mesic Forest (NMF), Native Mesic Grassland (NMG), Native Mesic Shrub (NMS), Native Wet Forest (NWF), and Native Wet Shrub (NWS). Raster values for all "veg_future" files are assigned as follows: 0 = No change (Vegetation category was not found in both baseline and future scenarios) 1 = An absence of the vegetation type in the future NCAR scenario while maintaining a presence in the baseline (current) climate, also known as a contraction of range. A raster value of 2 = An absence in the baseline climate scenario and presence of vegetation in the future NCAR RCP 8.5 scenario, also seen as an expansion of range. 3 = Presence of vegetation in both baseline and NCAR climate scenarios, meaning there is no anticipated change in existing vegetation range For Future overlap files, each vegetation type was reassigned with a numeric value and rasters with "future presence" were added together to determine potential overlap between vegetation types under a future climate, i.e. areas with potential suitability for multiple native species to coexist. Prior to the addition process, numbers were assigned as follows: Native Dry Shrub= 1 Native Mesic Shrub = 2 Native Wet Forest = 10 Native Mesic Forest = 20 Native Dry Forest = 100 Native Mesic Grassland = 200 Native Wet Shrub = 1,000 To determine which combination overlapped at a specific point, simply determine the possible combination for the raster value (for instance 1,321 would be 1,000 + 200 + 100 + 20 + 1) For Multi-Class files: 0 = Bare ground 1 = Native Dry Forest 2 = Native Dry Shrub 3 = Native Mesic Forest 4 = Native Mesic Grassland 5 = Native Mesic Shrub 6 = Native Wet Forest 7 = Native Wet Shrub 8 = Other non-native vegetation
