Human neonatal fungal gut colonization Targeted Locus (Loci)

Study focusing on the development of the human neonatal gut fungal microbiome. Fungal communities may be important early colonizers of neonates due to the potential to influence immunity and metabolism, as well human disease. The ITS2 region of fungus is the locus of interest for this project, due to its ability to allow distinction between medically-relevant fungal species.
