Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is considered the prototype of spondyloarthritis inflammatory disorders (SpA). AS is a chronic inflammatory autoimmune disease characterized by new bone formation causing syndesmophytes and enthesitis. In this study we aimed to identify possible taxonomic bio-markers related to AS, through metagenomic sequencing of gut microbiota bacterial DNA.
