Kruger National Park South Africa (2015 and 2022)

This dataset used camera trap data collected from the Kruger National Park (KNP) in 2015 (June and July) and 2022 (June) to describe waterhole visitation patterns by large mammals using a Model Bushnell Aggressor Trophy Cam HD Low-Glow cameras. Cameras were set to record photographs at five-minute intervals and when motion was detected with a minimum one-minute interval between photographs and each photograph was manually annotated to record the abundance of species in direct contact with or next to the waterhole. These data provide us with a temporal record of species at waterholes, including patterns of spatial and temporal co-occurrence.
