The Hinsdale Wave Research Laboratory (HWRL is a state-of-the-art experimental facility conducting fundamental and applied research in coastal and ocean engineering and science via physical model experiments. Through our work we deliver research, testing, education, and outreach to improve the resilience and sustainability of coastal areas, and to develop innovative solutions to the design of coastal infrastructure. The HWRL offers a two unique facilities: the Large Wave Flume, the largest facility of it’s kind of any US academic institution and the Directional Wave Basin for considering fully 3-dimensional phenomena. Our facility offers a complete suite of instrumentation to measure free-surface, 3D velocities, pressure, turbidity, multi-axial loads, position, stress, 6DOF motions, and bottom profilers for mobile bed experiments. Our data acquisition modules incorporates synchronized measurements with a dedicated system with more than 192 channels and sampling rates exceeding 10 kHz depending on the number of channels and the specific application. Accurate surveying techniques include LiDAR, Total Station and Laser Range Finders.

欣斯代尔波浪研究实验室(Hinsdale Wave Research Laboratory,HWRL)是一家依托物理模型实验开展海岸与海洋工程及相关科学领域基础与应用研究的顶尖实验设施。本实验室通过各项工作提供研究、测试、教育与科普推广服务,旨在提升海岸区域的韧性与可持续性,并为海岸基础设施设计开发创新性解决方案。 HWRL拥有两处特色设施:分别为美国学术机构中同类型规模最大的大型波浪水槽(Large Wave Flume),以及可开展全三维现象研究的定向波浪水池(Directional Wave Basin)。本实验室配备完整的测量仪器套件,可对自由液面、三维流速、压强、浊度、多轴载荷、位置、应力、六自由度(6DOF)运动进行测量,并配备用于动床实验的底剖面仪。本实验室的数据采集模块集成了同步测量专用系统,可支持超过192个通道的同步采集,采样率可达10 kHz以上,具体参数可根据通道数量与具体应用场景调整。精准测量技术涵盖激光雷达(LiDAR)、全站仪(Total Station)与激光测距仪(Laser Range Finders)。
