Within each cell exists a complex transport network responsible for the delivery of a diverse range of internalised cargo to its correct intracellular destination. This endosomal network is comprised of many components including motor-proteins, endosomal effectors, lipids and cytoskeletal elements which drive transport of cargo through individually noisy interactions. This poses a challenge for the cell to ensure consistent trafficking; thus, this thesis investigated if there exist mechanisms to maintain timeliness of cargo delivery. We describe new phenomena that enable deterministic intracellular trafficking which support its role as a key regulator of cell signalling.
