In 2023, 94 percent of French users aged 18 to 24 reported using messaging apps for texting. In comparison, only 53 percent of users aged 74 and above reported using communication apps to send instant messages. Overall, using messaging apps for texting was more prevalent among users aged 18 to 39 than any other age group.
