Large-scale natural forest complexes

An overview of the large-scale natural forest complexes of Saxony was created in connection with the description of the potential natural vegetation of Saxony (cf. SCHMIDT et al. 2002: 115ff). For the selection of areas mainly the criteria for forest biotope mapping were determined, according to which the current, area-related tree species composition (equivalent to at least 80 percent of the potential natural vegetation) and the age of the stocks (at least half of the rotation time) were used for the identification of rare natural forest societies. Furthermore, BfN requirements regarding the area size of large-scale natural forest complexes were to be observed (in forest-rich areas at least 100 ha, in low forest areas at least 30 ha). The data was updated in 2012 for the landscape program. Area No. 8 “Hunting Castle Weißwasser and Surroundings” was removed as it is used by the open-cast Nochten mine.本数据集为萨克森州（Saxony）大型天然林综合体（large-scale natural forest complexes）概况，系配合萨克森州潜在天然植被（potential natural vegetation）描述工作编制而成（参见SCHMIDT等2002年文献，第115页及后续章节）。区域遴选主要依据森林生境制图（forest biotope mapping）标准开展：以当前与区域匹配的树种组成（占潜在天然植被比例不低于80%）以及林分年龄（不低于轮伐期的一半）作为珍稀天然林群系的识别依据。此外，需遵循德国联邦自然保护局（BfN）针对大型天然林综合体的面积阈值要求：森林富集区域面积不低于100公顷，少林区域面积不低于30公顷。本数据集于2012年针对景观规划项目完成更新。编号8的区域“魏斯瓦瑟狩猎城堡及周边”因被诺赫滕露天煤矿占用，已从数据集中移除。
