资源简介:
Trypanosomatids of the subfamily Strigomonadinae are known for harboring endosymbiotic Betaproteobacteria, in a close relationship that mutually benefits the eukaryotic host and the bacterium, with intense metabolic and physiologic collaboration between the two. It has been demonstrated that the endosymbiotic relationship in this subfamily originated once in the common ancestor to all of its known species, with the trypanosomatid host and its bacterium co-speciating very closely since then and resulting in an almost complete one-to-one relationship between host and endosymbiont species. Described Strigomonadinae Angomonas ambiguus is of special interest in the evolution of endosymbiosis due to breaking that co-speciation pattern, as its bacterium is from the same species as the one found in A. deanei, while the trypanosomatid is more closely related to A. desouzai. In this project, we analyze, using comparative genomic and phylogenetic tools, the genomic sequences of two strains of A. ambiguus and their respective endosymbionts.
