Objective To explore the metabolic abnormalities in people of different age groups and analyze the risk factors of metabolic abnormalities syndrome. Methods A total of 4500 people who underwent physical examinations in our hospital were selected as the research subjects and divided into 6 groups according to different age groups. A questionnaire survey was conducted on the personal data of the subjects, and physical (height, weight, waist circumference, blood pressure) and biochemical indicators (blood lipids, blood sugar) were tested. The levels of metabolic indicators and the prevalence of hypertension, hyperlipidemia, hyperglycemia, and metabolic syndrome in people of different age groups were compared, and logistic regression was used to analyze the risk factors for metabolic syndrome. Results The detection rates of hypertension, hyperlipidemia, hyperglycemia and metabolic syndrome in the total population were 22.02%, 34.48%, 6.20% and 20.22% respectively. There were significant differences in body mass index, diastolic blood pressure, systolic blood pressure, total cholesterol, triacylglycerol, fasting blood glucose, and 2-h postprandial blood glucose levels among people of different age groups (P<0.05). The detection rates of hypertension, hyperlipidemia, hyperglycemia, and metabolic syndrome increase with age, and there are significant differences in each age group (P<0.05). T There were significant differences in the detection rates of hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and metabolic syndrome among subjects of different genders (P<0.05). Among those aged ≥55 years old, the prevalence of hypertension exceeds 50%, and among this age group, female subjects have a higher detection rate of hyperlipidemia. The detection rate of metabolic syndrome in men in the two age groups of 26-35 and 36-45 is significantly higher than that in women (P<0.05), while the detection rate of metabolic syndrome in women aged 56-65 is significantly higher than men (P<0.05). Logistic regression analysis showed that gender, age, economic income, high-fat diet, leisure physical activity, smoking, family history of diabetes, and family history of hypertension are all independent risk factors for the occurrence of metabolic syndrome. Conclusion With the increase of age, the detection rate of metabolic abnormalities such as hypertension, hyperlipidemia, hyperglycemia and metabolic syndrome is increasing, and the detection rate in men is higher than that in women. The occurrence of metabolic syndrome is getting younger, especially in men, and the middle-aged and elderly are the high-incidence age group of metabolic syndrome. Gender, age, economic income, high-fat diet, leisure physical activities, smoking, family history of diabetes, and family history of hypertension are closely related to the occurrence of metabolic syndrome.
