North Central Catchment Management Authority: 2013-18 Agriculture

Farming for Sustainable Soils is a community-based program that supports the establishment of local area soil protection groups (FSS groups). Each group assumes responsibility for the adoption of sustainable soil management practices in their immediate area. FSS groups participate in a schedule of activities that range through understanding the condition and helath of the soils of their local area, building group knowledge of soils and soil management, and establishing trials of sustainable land management practices that promise to protect and (where possible) enhance the productive and environmental values that local soils afford. The project is guided by a priorities document that outlines the focus areas to be addressed and the six new groups that will participate in the FSS program over the next five years.

「可持续土壤耕作（Farming for Sustainable Soils，以下简称FSS）」是一项社区主导型项目，致力于推动当地土壤保护小组（FSS小组）的成立。各小组将负责在其辖区内推广可持续土壤管理实践。FSS小组将参与一系列既定活动，涵盖了解当地土壤的状况与健康水平、提升团队的土壤与土壤管理专业知识，以及开展可持续土地管理实践试点——此类试点旨在保护并（在可行范围内）提升当地土壤所能提供的生产价值与生态环境价值。本项目以一份优先级规划文件为指导，该文件明确了需重点推进的工作领域，以及未来五年内将加入FSS项目的6个新小组。
