LKT50 Lithofazieskarten Tertiary 1: 50 000

For the north-western Saxon lignite region around Leipzig, on six sheets (2465 Bitterfeld, 2466 Eilenburg, 2666 Mittweida, 2566 Wurzen, 2565 Leipzig, 2665 Zeitz) Horizon and Lithofazies maps for the entire tertiary strata sequence are drawn up. The tertiary is presented in 8 horizontal maps as a layer of covered sequence. The map work, which is produced nationwide for Northwest Axis, also includes quaternary base and pretertiary maps as well as mining maps and regional cuts. Together with the "Lithofazieskarte Quaternary 1: 50 000 (LKQ 50)" and the "Map of the glacially covered areas of Saxony GK 50" is available for the first time for the Locker Mountains of the northwestern Saxon region a uniform map in complete sequence including surface and base maps as well as maps of the pretertiary subsurface.
