ImmunoLeish: genomic adaptation of L. donovani Ld1S parasites during rodent infection

The ImmunoLeish project investigates genomic adaptation of L. donovani Ld1S parasites during rodent infection. The following genomes were sequenced:(i) amastigote parasites recovered from spleens and livers of infected wildtype hamsters (Mesocricetus auratus) and mice (Mus musculus BALB/c) to assess difference in genomic adaptation between different organs and different rodent host species(ii) amastigote parasites recovered from spleens and livers of infected immunocompromised hamsters (Mesocricetus auratus treated by cyclophosphamide) and mice (Mus musculus nude BALB/c) to assess the impact of host immunity on parasite genomic adaptation.
